During the years she spent working on her feature length documentary on Quiet Riot, Regina Banali had no idea her countless hours of research on the band’s history would be paramount to her work today. In 2019 Regina’s husband Frankie Banali, original founder, drummer and band manager, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She took over operations of his band while being his full time caregiver. When he passed, he assigned the trademarks to the Quiet Riot name and the rights to Regina who kept the band working and overhauled the business side of the organization. She signed original member Rudy Sarzo to return to the band after a 20 year absence. She acquired a new booking agent and oversees the band’s 60 shows a year and has personal approval of the use of all the songs in licensing. She also untangled the merchandise rights from a previous contract and started manufacturing and selling new official Quiet Riot merchandise. She collaborated on and exec produced a music project that had the band creating a new/old song from a found demo of the late singer Kevin DuBrow’s voice, and adding a drum performance by Frankie. In 2021 she commissioned and unveiled a bronze statue of Frankie at the world famous Rainbow Bar & Grill where the band has much history. She is dedicated to continuing Frankie’s work and uplifting his memory and legacy in the hearts and minds of his fans all around the world.
